Eisteddfod Rules

  • All entries must be on a Celtic, Pagan, Druidic, or Wiccan theme.

  • Entrants may enter no more than two (2) items per category.

  • Winners are limited to one (1) prize per category.

  • All entries must be the original, unpublished work of no more than two authors per entry.

  • The contest is open to everyone except judges, sponsors, and WicCon committee.

  • Judging will be on a blind/numbered entry basis so do not put your name or other identifying mark on the entries themselves. A non-judging coordinator will be numbering each entry form and its corresponding entries.

  • Enclose two typed, double-spaced copies of each entry.

  • An audio tape or cd recording of the entry must accompany musical entries in addition to the manuscript copies.

  • All entries remain the copyrighted property of the author(s). (If you wish to have audio tapes or cds returned, please enclose a suitable self-addressed, stamped envelope as well as marking (Return) on the entry form where provided.)

  • Short stories are limited to no more than 1000 words (5 typed, double-spaced pages).

  • There are 1st and 2nd prizes in each category and there may be others as determined by the judges and/or the contest committee.

  • Entries must be postmarked no later than midnight of Saturday, 7 January 2006.

  • The top entries in each category will be invited to perform their work at the Eisteddfod to be held at WicCon on Saturday, 4 February 2006. Entries must be performed at this Eisteddfod to be eligible for final judging. (Authors/creators may elect to have someone else perform their work in their stead.)

  • Performance of entries will provide the final determining factors on winning entries. The decision of the judges is final.

  • Performers and any competition attendees (including attending entry authors/creators) must be members of the convention.

  • Performers and entrants are responsible for their own expenses incurred by entering and/or attending.

  • Contestants agree that neither the Eisteddfod, WicCon, the staff or members of any of these groups or organisations, the judges, nor the sponsors of this contest or event are in any way liable, individually or severally, for any loss or damage associated with participation in this contest or event.
